Odisha Maritime Museum, Cuttack

A day in the life of Lily,
when the zeal and determination
makes most of the day...
A message of lovely angel,
when as a company, accompanies the stay!

All work done by mid-afternoon,
museum, it is we turned to!
Having secured the entry,
two pounder field guns,
welcomed us into the State Museum!

Faulkner, 1889, the time flashed,
the works of art, establishment, details
hung on the wall…
Variation in maritime, the soul beheld!

Left turn we took, souvenirs and books
English, Hindi and Odia transcript to take home!
Children activities, beautiful it was,
Cafeteria followed by aquarium we saw…

The entry exhilarating to aquarium was
Cool and composed, a travel to heaven as if!
Parrot fish, orange-pink found difficult to close its mouth
was held captive by its beauty for a long time!

Koi fish in a small pond, looked hungrily at us
though people say, it belongs to Japan
the board informed of having China as its origin...
Beauty! Beauty! As if the soul had said to itself!

Eel goby was a spectacle in itself,
kept on turning and twisting...

but the best part was where it can twist and turn
to be One with the world it was in!

Cuckoo catfish, was an interesting watch
it was spectacular as it went through one
and came through another …

A reflection of beauty and traits of cuckoo on land...
It is what the soul had read on the information board!

African cichilds, fox faced fish and Indian Pompano,
a sight to behold…
Adamant mudskipper and oyster toadfish
was shocking discovery for soul!

Ugly though oyster toadfish looked,
it strangely was reminded of Keats words:

“Beauty is truth, truth beauty
that is all/Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.”

Pufferfish with its jet like fins

and crab in all its beauty,
the soul observed...

A beautiful aquarium with seventeen varieties in one
another green world of Love!

Garden, boat shed, rituals of Odisha
marine equipment with culture, a beauty…
an account to be told,
when the soul would revisit it again!

A beautiful day to hold close!
Lesson as it learnt one…
World depends on ocean’s ecosystem,
Stay aware and play your part!

Namaste Love and Light _/\_
