Soulful Walk in Mysterious Nature!

Ethereal and light, soul felt
wishful morning, as black guards accompanied the way!
Feel of energy: aura of rainbow colours all around,
It was pure light, nothing at all!

Path strewn with colourful flowers:
 yellow, pink and violet!
It didn’t feel less than a Queen
to be welcomed by spring and avian around!

Bright sun, filling up the soul
Light, so light, light it felt
Call of Avian, within it was today…
Soulful and so hard to explain!

Barbet playful, while pigeons wooing
such sights, leaving one mirthful deep down!
Cool breeze fanning flushed cheeks
Fan and follower of some dreams!
Industrious ants reminded me of the tale
Bharata incarnated, of soulful presence!

Standing in front of the energy store
Vibration of colourful lights, a halo enclosed
Blissful, so blissful the soul felt
sharing it with all that it called World!
Purpose of life, thus it was to write
Soul answered, acknowledging thus!

Moving forward, saw sweeper sweeping
the yellow strewn flowers
Reminding the soul of  King Gajapati...
performing the "Chehra pahara during Rath Yatra festival!"

Lights passing through lushful green
powerful aura, the soul took a bath!
Parakeets in sky, splitting apart:
the soul losing track of One,
while another a symbol of flower of life
crying out aloud, as it perched!

Ravens and crows, in one row
sharpening their beaks, left me shocked!

But, shock had another name
when Drongo made a downward swirl!

Reminding me of downward descent,
“Gyres!” of Yeats “Second Coming,”it was
Birds of black and white shade
merry and playful they were
the soul felt it was stranger,
from some unknown world!

Drongos in three perched on hoarding
one to north, two to south it faced!
Mysterious Nature of Divine Mother
deciphering and difficult to decode!
The world it seems to be too alive
of what is living, past or to come!

Key words

Chehra pahara: During the festival, the Gajapati king wears the outfit of a sweeper and sweeps all around the deities and chariots in the Chera Pahara (sweeping with water) ritual. The Gajapati King cleanses the road before the chariots with a gold-handled broom and sprinkles sandalwood water and powder with utmost devotion. As per the custom, although the Gajapati King has been considered the most exalted person in the Kalingan kingdom, he still renders the menial service to Jagannath. This ritual signified that under the lordship of Jagannath, there is no distinction between the powerful sovereign Gajapati King and the most humble devotee.
