She sat down to eat rice and dal
placed by her mother in front,
she took the whole amount in her hand,
and while eating smeared herself and her white frock!
The yellow colour of pulses and turmeric so appeasing to her
It reminded her of spring, spread everywhere
While, she tasted ambrosia on her tongue,
Mother’s embrace was her console.
When she was picked to be washed…
She loved playing,
Splashing water everywhere…
Stopping when being scold!
She loved to escape,
when ever she found a chance.
When allowed to play…
she would sit in wet sand,
Only to feel numerous grains in her hand!
Digging on sand being her favourite sport…
She would take some in her mouth
And, as the grains filled the corner,
She felt tears streaming down!
Innocence dripping her face,
Others looked spell bound…
Sun loved shining on her…
Blessing her when it came out….
She being Oblivious of anything,
was usually lost in her own World!
