Carpe Diem: Follow the Star!
Woke up in the morning, but was weighed down! Why was I feeling so filled up today? Well, Maa made tea today...finished my morning ablution and off we went to morning walk. Saw a pair of birds, was unable to recognize it, felt like some kind of thrush...(orange-black-white) Saw lights, artificial made star and decoration in the Church and in English medium school...Looked beautiful! And, thought about it's symbolic significance of it: (especially Star) Immediately it reminded me of the story I had heard always in school time. The wise man following the brightest star for direction...where the Wise Men from East follow the bright star to reach Jesus’ birth place, and the star hovering over the stable where He was born...Reminded me of the Traditional Carol, we used to hear on the last day of our school before our Winters Holiday:
"Away in a manger, no crib for his bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay,
the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay...."
The message I used to feel was; Live Simply, Humbly and with Love! For this is how he wants us to Live, with all kindness in heart, and for all fellow being, though his sleep is awakened by the cattles, he doesn't cries...How strange it reminded me of the similar circumstance of the birth of Lord Krishna, he too lives amongst the cow-herds... the name also sounds similar to me Christ-Chris-Krishna...Feel all religion teaches one concept: Live simply, humbly...with Love for all! :)We all are Stars of our Life, in real sense Hero of our Lives.... let that be a direction enough to let us do something good...Moved forward to see cattle egret, facing away from each other and definitely feeling cold, Black Drongo surfing the sky...noticed a pair of white rumped shama, moving from tree to tree, and was Lucky enough to notice Oriental birds...Good day and take care... :)May you be the Star of you Life, and may it be Brightest!!!Leading you to be the Goodwill of Mankind! :)
[P.S.: I can't finish the writing, without writing the Traditional Carol in full: (One of my Favorites...)
Away in a manger, no crib for his bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay,
the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
but little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky,
and stay by my side until morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay
close by me for ever, and love me I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
and fit us for heaven to live with thee there.
Hinduism or as such all religion says one thing as we pray: Almighty always keep your eye on us, With whatever name you take of his...And, that's what I felt in this carol too at the end, to keep an eye on us always:Stay near by me, Love me, be close to me, and let me stay with you forever, for there is the Bliss! And, when we think that God exist in mankind we will never hate our fellow beings, because it would remind us that we are being close to him... when we would carry a feeling of Love towards other!
{Carpe Diem: Carpe diem is a Latin aphorism usually translated to "seize the day", taken from a poem in the Odes (book 1, number 11) in 23 BC by the poet Horace. (Wikipedia) It means "seize the day," according to the words I have put in, it means seize the day, as you follow the star which shines in your heart! Happy Reading! :) Information furnished for my Winter-bound-Lazy Kids :D <3 :) )}]
