Dog’s Love: An Attachment!

It was one of those mornings when I saw him
And, smiled at him.
And, his eyes had popped out.
He was with his masters
and, as if a single smile was not enough
And, so he kept on looking back.
I don’t know what he saw
but, his eyes was full of love.
Or was it some kind of recognition
I failed to comprehend!

The way he kept on looking back
it made me sigh.
Made me feel, given a chance
it would jump over me.
Or, the way he looked, it said so…
Play with me, smear me with his licks!
Why can’t he be with me?
Why can’t he be in my company?
and why can’t he, have all the Love and Smile?
Is a plea, I read in his eyes!

But, my mother was skeptical
And, reminded me of the story of Bharata
Attachment of any kind,
can break the purpose you are here.
Stay strong, and don’t be attached
Attachment leads to sorrow and misery
is what she discoursed!

Be present in everything, yet detached.
You are here for a purpose, don’t forget!
Purpose? What was that, and of what kind?
Why can’t I have a dog as a company?
Oh! So, loving, caring and faithful than any!
I kept on reflecting and read the story of Bharata.
There was the answer,
“Getting attached to anything other than God!”
Lives a reflection in your eyes,
of the one you loved at the last moment!
Forcing you to take a birth again and again…
A Cycle, Circle, which keeps on repeating?
Until you reach where Nothing exist
And, Time you find still!
No suffering, nothing...
And, only thing one is left with is:
BEING as Bliss!
