Olympic games at Rio, a destination,
For game lovers and spectacle of human spirit!
Every event, heroic in itself,
But, when it comes to one's country,
One feels proud to watch the moment.
The blood ringing in the ears,
When one observes, flowing Sindhu,
sweeping off Marin in first set.
Winning of first set of game,
amidst distracting flash, screams and shouts!
amidst distracting flash, screams and shouts!
Umpires, unsatisfied they looked,
A calm game, it should be,
They must have thought...
Warning again and again,
In second set of game it poured!
A smart chase it was
Smashing of cork one heard
In deafening silence, when one served...
A move towards the win for Smashing Marin,
a dialogue to the self...
Third game, what a chase it was
Marin moving to point 8
Flowing Sindhu, giving her hard time,
10-10 and a change of court.
Oh! The lucky court slipped off
Some might have thought...
A true player, plays the game
No matter, who wins or lose.
A beautiful game of beautiful spirit
Lesson it is, be it game or life:
When swept off by the flow
Smash it, stay up and keep saying:
"This is it, I am there!"
A gold in Olympic for Smashing Marin
Sparkling Silvery Sindhu,
Smiled it all Home!
A proud moment for both countries,
Congrats to Sport Spirit, Congrats to both!
